California resident Scott Haennelt and his mother kept themselves entertained during lockdown by playing an intricate trick-shot game they made using a ping-pong ball, a red drinking cup, and pots and pans at their home on April 10. The video shows Haennelt and his mother attempting to land the small ping-pong ball in the red plactic cup by tossing the ball using the pots and pans setup. The duo does manage to get the ball inside the cup a few times, much to their delight. Haennelt told Storyful he always wanted to try the ping pong ball trick shot but it required the right setup and structure to work and he never had the time until recently when he found himself in quarantine with his family. “[The] Ping Pong balls are light. When they bounce off the pan they go really far and simultaneously make a satisfying ding noise that sounds somewhat musical!” said Haennelt. Haennelt and his family practiced the trick for a couple of hours over a three-day timespan before any of them were able to land the ball in the cup. He shared his process on his TikTok account.
